Adam Lambert Wows Judges, Audience During Michael Jackson Themed Evening
Adam Lambert wowed the judges and audience with his rendition of Michael Jackson's "Black or White" on Tuesday's American Idol.
The video of Lambert's performance is available on YouTube and does show a unique and powerful rendition of Jackson's song. I wasn't really impressed with the lead guitar playing from the stage band, but Adam Lambert

United States of America performance. The strong metal-rock twist
Lambert gave "Black or White" was helped by the fact that Lambert has a higher range capability than most of the other American Idol contestants.
I am reminded of another American Idol Michael Jackson week just a year ago. David Cook, eventual winner of AI Season 7, stunned audiences with his twist on Jackson's "Billie Jean". We purchased the download from I-tunes and still listen to it regularly. The soulful version was brilliant and made Cook one of the early front-runners.
Will American Idol's Michael Jackson week bring the same gold to Adam Lambert?
Sadly, I am left wondering if American Idol voters will be reminded of another Season 7 contestant.
Recently, Vote for the Worst.com published photos of Adam Lambert kissing another man. In this day and age, it really shouldn't matter.
During the 2008 season, Vote for the Worst.com published photos of AI Top 12 contestant David Hernandez working as a stripper at a gay club prior to his American Idol audition. While AI executive producer Ken Warwick stated "The truth is we're never judgmental about what people do to earn a living", Hernandez was the first to be voted off the show. In all fairness, Hernandez did not have the strongest performance that evening but in my living room, we didn't feel it was the worst either.
Will Adam Lambert's best-of-show performance of "Black or White", a song touting non-discrimination, be enough to make call-in voters forget about the photos splashed across.Or has Vote for the Worst.com succeeded once again in destroying the chances for a truly talented performer?
